Line 1: Line 1:
Muyang Teng (they/them+) is a China-born queer artist, writer, and poetic agitator whose work explores the intersections of race, queerness, gender, sexuality, and toxicity under globalization and digitalization through experimental practices in poetry, translation, film, and critical theory. Born in China's Wu region and currently based between Jiangsu, Sichuan, Den Haag and ''elsewheres'', their creative inquiries focus on the experiences of queer racialized body. Muyang emphasizes how toxic environments and embodied vulnerabilities shape marginalized subjectivities, using a hybrid methodology of practice-as-research to challenge Eurocentric, Sinocentric, heteronormative, and ableist paradigms.
== [[Poetry List|Poetry]] ==

Drawing on notions like animality, monstrosity, and parasitism, Muyang employs the grotesque, humorous, and erotic to disrupt dominant narratives and deconstruct identity categories. Their work features fragmented storytelling, intricate wordplay, and subversive humor to highlight the complexities of queer Sinophone identities while critically engaging with representational violence and translation politics. By embracing suspension, errantry, and opacity, Muyang aims to resist assimilation into rigid identity frameworks and reclaim spaces of ambiguity and multiplicity. Their art ultimately strives to provoke, unsettle, and open up new modes of queer/crip world-making beyond colonial and capitalist paradigms.
