I recently had a go with Ubuntu. It was great, although I didn't like the amazon search integration.
Searching for an application into the dash sends data to Ubuntu's servers which is quite annoying. Ubuntu eventually forwards it to Amazon who then will suggest products you might want to buy. (if products get bought, Canonical gets a commission)
Then I got back to Mac Os X and wondered if I should switch from Mountain Lion to Yosemite (although I find it a bit ugly).
And I read about Yosemite to find out that there were a few privacy issues with it as well. (you also send some data back to Apple's servers)
