The Trip, cult film, 1967. Peter Fonda main character.

Cuts in scenes like the trip -> colors, interjections with short scenes. This supports his paranoid, anxious trip.

Starts at the beach, a man shooting a commercial. A woman comes up to him, talk about a divorce. He goes to a friend's house and takes LSD. Trip starts pretty quickly. Sex, flowing naked bodies.

Then snap back into being there with his friend. Take a walk. Wham in nature, alone, followed by two figures in dark clothes, on black horses. Bad turn... followed by the horses, runs into cave, then in some house, walking in the desert (trip in a trip to the doors movie?), cuts back and forth between forest and desert. He's dying, killed, hung, cut, in water, tripping, saying he's going to die. His friend: "IT'S ALL IN YOUR MIND."

Gets up, sees people's faces in a mirror, projected twirls of rotating color. "Oh, you were right, man, everything's in the head."

Back in nature, with two figures on horses. I wonder if they're men or women, it's hard to tell. He sees a woman, follows her. CUT. Naked in a field with a woman. Cut. To a house, watching his ex having sex. Cut. Circus wonderland. Lots of colors, shiny materials, talks to a priest who's embodied by a character he met before. A range of images from popular media flash by. "Everything is familiar but I feel separate." The priest unrolls a film roll. Images of his wife. TV. Turns into some sort of court case conversation. He pleads guilty. OF what?

Cut to black. Back with friend. "It's a trap." Enter paranoia. Livingroom. A living room. Word game. He doesn't think it's funny. "My body's gone." He's suspicious of his friend now, thinks he makes fun of him. When friend walks away to get something, he hides in a closet. BAM. Cacophony of sound and color. Runs out of door.

Cut to nature with people in dark clothes, he follows them. Cut. He's on his back in a ditch. Figures above him with shovels. They bury him alive. Cut back and forth to this scene and him standing by the side of the road. Flees into a house. Turns on TV, a male voice projects into the livingroom. Little girl comes downstairs, she's hungry so he gets her some milk from the kitchen. They talk a bit. Daddy comes down, he runs out again, running into nature, cut, out on the street.

Into a laundromat. Inserts money, looks up close at the mechanism. A girl sits there, eating, waiting for her laundry. He sees his wife projected in the machine, turning around. Sits next to the girl, "let's really try to contact each other." and she touches his hand, but he means her mind. He starts to take her stuff out of the machine, trying to get his wife out of the machine. She says she'll call the police. He runs. Ends up in a club. Mishmash of people dancing. Police. He runs away again, out on street. Jazz music sound track, signs, woodstock type of footage, big crowd gathered outside. Cut. Back at the house. Disorienting talk with the character who showed up as a priest earlier. Kisses a woman who's also on a trip. Sees the blond girl again. They're in a car. Mash-up mix of scenes from previously, shorter cuts of entire film. She takes him upstairs for sex. Figures on the horses take of their large black hoods: it's the blond woman he's having sex with, and his wife.
