Synopsis / Storyline
A first POV (point of view) short of a guy struggling getting out of the bed on a regular weekday. His phone's alarm rings. He press the huge snooze button - to get more 10 minutes of rest. He dreams about hectic happenings of his recent past. He wokes up he reaches his phone and writes a note connecting to his dream - an idea, a reminder or drops a line to a friend. He closes his eyes and see some closed eye visuals then falls back to sleep and have another dream - until his alarm does not interrupt it and wakes him up again.
Concept
I realized that ideas are build up in a similar way how dreams build up. Both of them seems to use a similar unconscious method putting together, combining little pieces, elements, memories somehow. I joke was born in my mind - a really naughty one. It was strange that how it came to my mind. So i have tried to trace back and i found the pieces the element that it was mixed and mashed what gave the result.
This piece would like to bring back to the audience an ordinary scene that they could experienced. It highlights that although these periods are only ten minutes in the morning can be rich in intellectual events and they can drive our conscious awake life.

ARCHIVE and MEMORY by ANNET DEKKER
Annet proposed to participate in an open competition closely connected to our theme Archive and Memory.
Beeld en Geluid in association with the EYE published a great amount of archive film material in a broad range of topics. The participant could use these footage to remix, to mash, to scratch them and add any kind of self made footage according to their will.
My original approach was to create an 'analogue' physical sequencer using several phones as the displays of the clips following each other.
The output would have been the documentation of this 'installation'. I was planning to play with the Kuleshov effect: for instance there is three phones each playing one short movie clip looped. But after a while, we would change the order. The first one would go to the end of the sequenc and last one would became the first one.
The forementioned idea was the original one, but I knew I have to let myself and my idea to let be formed by the material I have given. I decided to stick to the footage and do not add any selfmade material upon them.
I have produced a playful video piece that explores the relationship between modern digital technology and the traditional analogue techniques.
