Following on the questions posed in my previous writing on facial expression analysis and its link to emotions. I concluded with some questions I would like to look in further:

  • What is 'sincerity' in emotional expression?
  • How is this influenced by facial expression analysis?
  • How does the premise of these technologies relate to the notion of sincerity?
  • And what are its assumptions of and implication for human interaction?

An addition to this project I have written a short scene. In time this scene might evolve into something more substantial. Ie. when the girl would go into a speeddating session.

Speeddating is particularly intersting as it is a common event, but still is often perceived as an 'unorganic' way to meet your partner: it challenges the notion of sincerity of love. Altough it has proven that it often works out very well. It might even be seen more superficial than the dates that evolve when going a night out, as it is a setting that is merely constructed for meeting people.
