What is it?

"Geo-postcard". A GPS-tracked route of my Athens trip (or at least part of it) with videos on specific locations on the map (of those locations) with audio descriptions related either to the place itself or to a memory/particular significance of the place.

Why make it?

To create and share something deeply personal and change the nature of something typically neutral and impersonal (the generic map); to create the illusion of zooming in a place; to show the endless capabilities of geo-tracking and to create a poetical piece comprising many parts.

Workflow

Research tools. Go to Greece. Apply gps-tracking. Shoot videos. Edit. Compile. Send.

Timetables

A week: 2 days research into possible tools. 3 days geo-traking and shooting. 2 days editing.

Relation to a wider context

The ways geo-tracking effects our lives. How can we change this feeling of being watched into something positive. How to expose ourselves in a way that is meaningful and non-harmful to us. The joy of sharing an experience.
