[[Thesis draft #2; Spam as Advertisement ]]

Abstract

At first sight advertising and spam seem like similar forms of persuades us to buy something. And their tactics used to persuade us in the action of buying are not that distinct. However their seems to be a significant difference in the way advertisement and spam are perceived. One is legitimate and can surround our visual and aural environment at any time or place, whereas spam, just as the handle indicates, is distasteful, unsolicited, deceptive junk, which must be kept away from our eyes. Why is there such a differentiated treatment concerning spam and advertising? Where does the difference between the two lay?
