Name
Originally applied to the whole Fage Not Poundish Empire, the name Fage Not Pound comes from the Fagesh word Fagnot Pondum, or "realm of the Fagesh". The etymology of Fagesh is uncertain.
In Fagesh, 'Fage not Pound' is pronounced /feɪdʒ nɒt paʊnd/ but the pronounciation can vary per region and most Fagesh people understand the word however a person pronounces it.
History
The terms 'before Boot Lox' (b.BL.) and 'after Boot Lox' (a.BL.) are used to label or number years in the Fagesh calendars.
Early history (b.BL)

The after BL era was introduced in 33 a.BL. by Suhula Friki Dio Exiclama (ca. 10 b.BL. – ca. 776 a.BL.), who used it to identify the temporalities since the reveal of the Boot Lox. She introduced the new era to avoid using another era, as she did not wish to continue the memory of the time before the Boot Lox. Suhula Friki Dio Exiclama unfortunately didn't experience the 25th of March 0000 herself and didn't how much time has passed since then, so to calculate the temporality 0, she used the life-before-method. In her research, she talked to newborns. The newborns remembered more clearly how their life before being born was and could give her an estimation of when exactly the 25th of March 0000 took place. She compared the results and came to the conclusion that she must be born in 10 b.BL. and could determine the temporality 0. How exactly she arrived at that number is unknown but the BL calendar has been used ever since.

Temporality
The space of Fage not Pound is organised around a specific temporality that does not synchronise to 'typical' time value (such as seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc.). The unit of time, called Sumtemp[1], was established by Welda Zitrick [astro-physician, b. 2049] in 2097, as part of their research project on temporality "Detaching from the world-time" (2087-2097, published by MIT Press)[2]. In their research, [3] demonstrated the difference between the notion of tempo (an external temporality) and the notion of rhythm (an internal temporality). In, 2095, they led an experiment on a sample of the population on the newly founded site Fage not Pound. During this experiment, the participants were invited to continue their regular activities while all time elements were suppressed and replaced by rhythmic-based units of time (later on named 'Sumtemp').
In fact, a Sumtemp takes the form of a cycle rather than a unit.
