The shapes a reflection takes depend on the surface it is reflected on. The shapes we take in the world depend on how others reflect on us. It can be beautiful. Is the reflection an extension of us? An integral part?
What is it?
A series of photographs on the theme of reflection.
Why make it?
To examine the nature of reflection both in image and conceptually.
Workflow
Use one or more cameras. No flash. Move around in space, indoors and outdoors, find reflective surfaces and mirrors, take pictures, keep them unedited, place them next to each other, reflect on the findings in writing.
Timetable
The project has to be finished in one day. Multiple shots during different times, from early in the morning until late in the night, even when no reflection is produced (darkness as the absence of reflection or reflecting itself).

Previous practice
Extensive experimentation with photography and deep examination of word meaning.
Relation to a wider context
What is reflection, both as a surface reflecting light or an object reflecting another object and how does it extend to the realm of thought and its products. Both object/surface and reflection are examined. Are the objects distorted? Do they look "better"?
Choice made
To shoot multiple subjects reflecting on different light sources instead of one subject reflecting on one or multiple surfaces, because the focus is both on subject and surface and the goal is to show the multiplicity of outcomes and the nature of reflection in general.
