This protocol is based on the field recording collection and artistic sound map project Radio Aporee. You can listen to an audio introduction of the project here.
gather
- Go to Radio Aporee's and select the map interface
- Starting from a place you know, find a recording that triggers a personal memory
- download the sound
- click on Share and copy the link
- Create a (sub)page on the wiki for the sound, and paste the link
- Upload the sound to the wiki page.
- record yourself speaking the "meta data" of the recording from the aporee site
- record your description of the memory
- Upload and place these recordings on your wiki page.
- Place the [[Category:Field recording]] category on your wiki page.
perform
- View the page Category:Field recording
- Working alphabetically, select the first recording.
- Play the original sound.
- After an appropriate time start playing the metadata recording at the same time. Use the volume control in the audio player to adjust the mix.
- Once the metadata recording has stopped, and again after an appropriate pause, start playing the memory recording. If the original sound stop playing you may decide to restart it.
- Once the memory recording has finished, and at your discretion, stop any audio and return to the category page. Select the next item and repeat.
