WEEK 1 ANTI MEDIA & BOTDATE

From XPUB & Lens-Based wiki
WEEK 1 16/09/2013

Last week Graham Harwood mentioned bots on bots while describing the data managment and regulation of our systems. Bots as we know are all built on information that we give it through usage. I am interested in the quality of the conversation that they can have, the exchange is a cybernetic loop of knowledge sourced via our digital interactions. The plan would be to write a script to automate these conversations so they can be used in a performative context (possibley even live, a dating style show). I would like to aesthetically engage this project with dating websites and profile management, to strike the saturated social disciplines we have adopted through online dating and social networking. I like the idea of actors performing these automated user generated / AI conversations , as the conversation displays some systematic surreal poetry and the re-enacting of the date will be critical of the generic profiles and nature of online dating sites. The next step is too add stage directions so this BOTDATE beta can take form as a screenplay. Then shoot a BETA in the green screen studio at WDKA before creating the code for the automated scripts to be generated in a live date format, for a bigger live & recorded show to take place.
