What: The banality of the web can often be a mirror to other practices we may find banal in the real world. Like, running. Who actually runs for the sake of running? I mean, I realize it's exercise but running is a sport which should have a goal other than to run. The collection contains all manner of things which I find banal, and so I put a twist to running. If it has no goal, then why not move in place? Like a threadmill. The example of running is quite specific, but bear with me. There is a already a real version of running without a goal; but how about in the virtual? In MMORPGs you always run with a goal; in fact, you never walk. If you run without a purpose in a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game you're bound to get killed by all manner of nasty creatures and pitfalls. And so- the meaning of purpose interchange with each other; the virtual MMORPG could be seen as meaningless, but at least the activity of running has a purpose.

WHY: I REALIZED VERY LATE THAT IN ORDER TO MAKE I HAVE TO HAVE FUN, AND BE SIMPLE WITH MY APPROACH TOWARDS ART. I HAVE DONE LITTLE PROGRESS WITH EXPLAINING THE COMPLEX METAPHORS BETWEEN SOCIETIES OF CONTROL AND MYCELLIUM, IN FACT: I WAS STUCK, SO LET'S CHANGE TRACKS! I HAVE A LARGE AFFECTION FOR INTERNET CULTURE, AND I HAVE MOSTLY LOOKED AT IT FROM A FAR VANTAGE POINT. THE VIRTUAL KIDNAPPING PROJECT WAS MY FIRST SUCCESS IN MEDIA DESIGN, SO LET ME CONTINUE THAT PRACTICE. LET'S SEE WHAT GROWS OUT OF THIS.
