peanut-eraser

Mb-peanut-eraser.jpg

when could a peanut-eraser be considered as a thing?

→ at the moment you use it to erase (?)
→ at the moment you think you recognize a peanut (?)

what could be called the thingness of this thing?

→ the kind of material it is made of to be able to erase something (?)
→ the form, color & texture of a peanut (?) & the fact that it is a model/simulation, and so you're fooled by your eyes... at the first place (?)

#FFFF

Mb--ffff.jpg

when could a #FFFF be considered as a thing?

→ when it is displayed on a screen, as being white, or, is it '#FFFF', those five characters that make it the thing? and not so much the representation of it? (?)
OR does it refer to a certain '0-1' (bits) string, rather then to the color white? (?)

what could be called the thingness of this thing?

→ the fact that if you would use it in css for example, you would get the color 'white' displayed (?)

metaphor of the internet as 'ocean'

Mb-surfing-drowning-diving.png

when could a metaphor of the internet as 'ocean' be considered as a thing?

→ when used to frame a certain scale onto the internet, that brings a certain connotation of an endless experience with it (?)

what could be called the thingness of this thing?

→ the fact that it can name the internet by referring to the characteristics of an ocean (?)

(quite in progress)
