Space Siren

Layered guitars and a sweet succulent voice pull you in and spit you out – gently.

Indie foursome Space Siren is moody without being too heavy, and catchy without being too poppy.

Their songs sound like they know where they’re going, but they’ll never let you in on the secret.

They have that forward drive every band should have: the sound of needing to make music, not just wanting to.

Introduction

After the very well succeeded clip theekeningen I made in 2010, Space Siren asked me again to participate in making a clip. This time for there new album which will come out in February.

The band and I have a long history. I was only 15 years old when I saw them playing for the first time and it was love at first sight.

I was amazed that 4 girls could play such sweet and fragile music.

This was there first band: Hey Tony. I saw them in Den Haag, but found out that they lived in the same town as me.

I was asked to ride with them when they had concerts and that is were my admiration turned into friendship.

They changed into See Saw and Corno came in as guitarist. In 2003 they broke up.

Ineke and Corno played in Zoppo for a short time, but also started to make there own music as Space siren.

The members have been changed a lot, only the Ineke Duivenvoorde (drum) and Corno Zwetsloot (gitarist/vocalist) are the same.

In order to let them practice with the band, I did babysit there daughter. I do things for them and they do something back. It as a good give and take relation and I look forward to make more clips for them.

I have enough ideas and love that I have an excuse to execute them.

They let me choose two songs from the rough edit they had of there new album. I had Three favourites, but choose these two:

  • You guys kill me
  • You talk they listen

Song: You guys kill me

Song: You talk they listen
