" * IS WATCHING"

On the morning of the 15th November, the NYPD were attempting to evict the Occupy Wall Street protesters from Zucotti Park. I was online at the time, and somehow found my way on to a livestream of the eviction - an occupy protester was streaming the events from his mobile phone. There was a very active chat window too, with people apparently from all over the world sharing their views, whether showing solidarity with the protestors or providing an occasionally irrational critical commentary of the occupy movement. After a while, I noticed that a lot of people simply stated that they "were watching."

Oakland was watching.
China was watching.
Vancouver and New Mexico were watching.
The Netherlands and the UK were watching too.

I copied an extract of the chatlog (wish I had managed to grab more), and through a conversation with a friend we decided to make a quick Wall Street style stock-ticker out of it as a quick and dirty project. The piece can be found here: http://occupy-ticker.tk/
