I’m using lens-based media and design as a research tool to reflect on our current and future technologies, the hidden geopolitical and ecological problematics associated with them and their influence on our current living environment. I'm interested investigating the natural resources that are required to build the technological devices that shape our mobile lives. At the moment I’m interested in researching the ‘New Materialist’ theory in order to get a better understanding about ecology and the natural resources itself. I want to explore how I can translate this theory into a new visual narrative by taking collage and moving image as a starting point.

Resource extraction and geological matter have been significant topics in my work. Approaching these topics from a new materialist perspective will challenge me to get a deeper understanding about the politics of natural matter.

This research method is different from the projects I’ve done before, because I approach the topic more from a theoretical perspective instead of a journalistic perspective.
By doing this I’m aiming towards translating the new materialist theory into a hybrid narrative rather than creating a narrative that is written through a journalistic account.

This week, I figured that I have to read three Theoretical texts, summarize them and make a visual translation of them. I’d like to make a collage that resonates and translates the text in order to get better understanding of what it is that I'm reading and what it is that I'm doing. I’m drawn towards working with collage because
