pitch for the Eye projecT

Doing A research about the whereabouts of a bust of a family member, my grandfather’s brother, an ex national hero, a communist politician and a whole hearted socialist in the period after the WW2. The bust that was erected on one of the main squares in the town of Sinj, disappeared with the new political regimes. I want to find it.

He helped industrialise the region he grew up in, bringing in the thread factory “ Dalmatinka” in the province of Sinj, and by doing so, producing a significant shift on many levels in the community of the region. The very meaningful one is that it shook the grounds of a too-well-rooted patriarchy; Being a thread factory, the industry had predominantly women employed, women then started wearing pants , driving bicycles, shockingly!

I'm doing it because its possibly an interesting little story that deals with collapsing of ideas, decomposing power myths, resurrecting family myths, playing. Will try to leave the drama out. I might even concentrate on the fact that he died the same day I was born, and how I might actually be his reincarnation.
