religion seems still to be a necessary evil to orient life. when traditional religions fail, new religions are created in order to replace them.

suggested size of the state: not exceeding that of switzerland for sustainability concerns.
type of government: a theocracy of sorts. order is guaranteed by a guiding directorium of elder cat ladies.
nobody owns anything, all belongs to the cats. resources are acquired through mass production of cat videos (and it goes without saying: no cats will be harmed to produce them). tourism will be another important source of income.
the state is open to all those who are ready to surrender their independence in honor of the supreme being, the felis catus, aka the domestic cat. all the citizens of the state commit to the lifelong engagement of taking care of the feline community that is at the core of the state. in order to provide for the community, they pledge to work exclusively for the benefit of the cats, with the exception of a minimum self-maintenance required to keep their own being in acceptable and functional conditions. this is not only a form of deference but also vital as a guarantee that they will be able to fulfill their duties. citizens can only be single people, no reproduction or family ties will be allowed. to prevent carers from being extinguished, an effective pr campaign will guarantee new applications coming in.
individuals of all sexes can apply for citizenship. the main requirement for earning citizenship is the ability of taking care of cats. a special committee will review the applications. after a trial period, new citizens are finally given the title of cat ladies (all sexes) and become officially part of the state. please refer to the documentation for rules and requirements regarding application.
why do personal rights have to be surrendered? the answer is simple. giving up rights is necessary in order to maintain the felines properly taken care of. which in other words means, it is necessary to keep the state running.
citizens who will not comply with regulations will be condemned to become living scratching boards. the duration of the punishment is dependent on the gravity of the guilt.
cats bring both happiness and misery. join the league of the eternally committed cat ladies. join the utopian state of pussyfoot.
