Planning 2011
This discussion has moved to the staff wiki.... go there to add to the planning
First Thematic Project
- Renee: e-mail/contact Gordo & Danja about possible integration with Olia/Digital Folklore (done, the guys are pleased to connect to Olia's interests "users")
- organize the theory sessions with Olia (we're currently working on a series of theoretical sessions exploring the notion of the "user")
Second Thematic Project
- Contact Inke Arns again. Perhaps she can shift her module to the last trimester. (Met with Inke in Dortmund and discussed the time change. She's thinking about it and will hopefully contact me soon (Sep. 08) with an answer.)
Third Thematic Project
Currently contingent on Inke's decision.
Planning of turbo-cooking intro week
27 September - 1 October
Monday:Day 1
Everyone introduces themselves in a Pecha Kucha-style (Found out that there is a joint introduction day in the morning so we might need to expand the Pecha Kucha into the next day too.) Digital Folklore might be a possible gift depending on affordability (this could be handed out before Danja and Gordo introduce the workshop) (Couldn't get Digital Folklore at a cheap enough price to hand out. Now, Olia and I will be making a reader to give away)
Tuesday:Day 2
? possibly continuing introductions in the morning ?
- Install Party: Ubuntu for the newbies and whatever else for the h4x0rz
- Screening of video (extracts):
- Patent Absurdity: http://patentabsurdity.com/
- The Net: http://www.amazon.com/Net-Unabomber-LSD-Internet/dp/B000EMGIWI
- Code swarm
- 'make art': a selection of lectures from the past editions
Wednesday:Day 3
Command Line introduction with Aymeric. "Never Fear the Terminal"
Thursday: Day 4
Danja and Gordo introduce their thematic project (possible barbecue at the end of the day)
Friday: Day 5
Leslie gives her infamous bicycle tour
Planning Infrastructure
- michael: installation/migration of course wiki (MediaWiki)
- locating/linking/migrating old thematic project content into wiki
- aymeric: Planet feed accumulator http://www.planetplanet.org/
- michael: video archive / infrastructure, for lectures, psat shows
- look into pulling in old material: final show documentation, old lectures
- renee: update handbook, criteria for "networked media"
- need to edit and compress Chris Meade's lecture, find a way to represent Mez's Google Wave project
- wiki templates:
