PERL

PERL is a scripting language, comparable to Python or PHP. Developed by Larry Wall as a tool to help process text, and released and developed as an open source project, PERL became embraced by vast and diverse community of developers and users, and was crucial to early development of web programming through its use in CGI scripting.
