currently, for the pre EYE I project I'm working with a classmate. We teamed up on a project that is based on a fever dream-like setting/lucid dream/augmented reality. We decided to team up because, first of all in the first week of class it was a subject that we coincidentally spoke passionately about. When discussing what we wanted to do for this upcoming project, our themes were really aligned and also the visual outcome, and how we would realize this. That's when we decided since were aligned, if we team up we're two men stronger and we can add a whole dialogue with a satisfying storyline. The goal of what we're making is to mimic a fever dream state from a first-person perspective. Personally, I'm also really interested in how I can engage with the audience. That's why the theme being a fever dream really spoke to me, because basically there are no limitations, compared to those that you might find in a storyline of a traditional realistic film. To find common ground with an audience in that area could be very interesting. Furthermore, there is an intense emotion connected to fever dreams, I want to see how far I can take that in terms of seeing if the audience can feel an intense emotion (or maybe not at all) and if so, why. In terms of skill set, I wanted to take this opportunity to really experiment with tools and processes in a new video outcome that i haven't used before in a film format. I think both of us can learn a lot from each other's processes and skills to eventually create an awesome outcome

On the one hand, this project is similar to other projects i have worked on because I'm super interested in invoking feelings indirectly so by using symbolism and colors for instance to make someone feel uneasy, happy or nostalgic. Another subject that I've been interested in before is surrealism which this project kind of dips into as well, as the eventual goal is to have moments where the audience will question wether the events that happen are in real life or not. What is really different for me is the process of achieving this goal. First of all it will be a short film with a storyline and dialogue, which I've never made before, usually the video editing that I do is commissioned work and therefore its more savvy and less experimental, so that's definitely new for me. Additionally, usually in my photography work for instance, I'll use more portrait based work, maybe a bit more low key and more focused on the aesthetic and the message (if applicable). I feel like this process is a lot of experimenting and the eventual outcome that we want will obviously be achieved by applying our combined knowledge and skills but also partially by trail and error, therefore i'm definitely stepping out of my usual process and comfort zone. For Instance, thinking about how we would create a realistic dreamworld, one of the tools to create this is by animating this, even though i have animated before, i haven't created an animated world before that seems realistic so how would we go about that is going to be an interesting process where we will put our two creative brains together. That in itself will also be a new part for me, teamwork in the sense of every input is going to be created together and in that process seeing how we can combine our strengths and work effeciently. When you have creative people working together step by step there will be alot of ideas floating around that want to be created, therefore some type of workflow structure needs to be created and that is also new for me.

we basically had two goals: we had the one bigger goal being the January film screening and then we also for ourselves set of goal for Tuesday too. For the Tuesday deadline, we have a small week to show the classmates some footage and receive feedback. for the bigger project of the eye filmmuseum we want to go more into the sense of making the audience question whether it's real or not and for the shorter deadline we really chose to go into a more into an aesthetic that was maybe like a hyper focus on the emotion fear (linked to a fever dream) and therefore to focus on the experimental parts to see how far we could go with that. in terms of dividing workload, that has been really natural, we are both present for all actions that need to take place, but since we know eachtoher skills there is a natural divide in who is more hands on on what action point.
