Nan'sWorkshop

From XPUB & Lens-Based wiki

This project started when I started questioning how to make art. I stumbled upon this abstract artist named Shiraze Houshyari who talked about creating something without knowing what you're making. It was a total game-changer for me. I decided to stop searching for a concrete answer and instead, find value in the unknown.

My obsession with creating art from the simplest materials took off with the workshop by Nan Wag called "A History of Hand Made Films". I was blown away by how well-composed abstract art can be made from minimal and simple materials. It inspired me to create something beautiful out of nothing using Touch Designer software. I was inspired by the works of Oskar Fischinger and decided to make something similar but with Iranian music.

This journey has allowed me to put a value on my surroundings and not just specific subjects that I find valuable. It has encouraged me to make more art and focus less on the process of making art. I can confidently say that not knowing gave me the freedom I was searching for in my identity.

Right now, this project is still a work in progress, but I'm excited to see where it takes me next!
