IMAGE AND CODE

During the image and code module I tried to find a way to show how the wifi within my own house works. I found an application that gives a certain signal a color and specific sound. Green is for a good reception, red for a bad reception etc. With these elements I tried to find out where in my own house I can find the best reception. What I noticed was that trying different routes and ways to document this process, when I did the same walk again the signals were completely different. This sparked my interest even further. I tried to make an automated website that updates regular with new signal updates, of course this was too advanced for me yet, next to my best efforts at a website which changes when moving the cursor, I made a simple example with photoshop to show what I was thinking of. This shows the colours of the places and then a second bar which shows the second walk - and the differences within the signals.

Based upon these small experiments I know now that I want to build my own signal identifier, which I'm currently trying to find a good basis for, meaning: will I use an arduino, or a raspberry pi, what else do I need, what kind of coding will be the best etc. I hope to find a way to analyse wifi signals, why do they change and what effects them and the other way around. How can we see these signals with our own eyes?

Next to this project I wanted to continu with, I made pictures of water and waves. These images show what I visualise as wifi signals. Whenever I read about wifi signals they are described as waves or ripples, and as a small experiment I wanted to create an image with that description. I don't want to continue with this, it's just a little tinker exercise.
