Save as is an instalation diveded into two rooms. The first room is a dressing room as taken from the opera. It containes all of its attributes from the intercom for the actors to the chest board and the social slogans on the walls. The room looks as it is from another decade despite the fact that the parts of the interior had being taken out of use just days ago. In the second room is a photo slide show projection on all four walls. The projected pictures present the interior and the atmosphere of the opera. It reveals the hidden place where the actors and dancers rehearse and exposes the character of the work in the background.
Save as started as the news of a renovation in the opera house in Ruse came up. For the first part of this installation interior from the opera has being taken out and has being rebuild into a dressing room. Construction of the room has being looked into detail, it has all the accessories it needs to be a proper dressing room from the intercom for the actors to do chest board and the social slogans on the walls left from the 70s. For the second part of the installation had being taken pictures capturing the atmosphere and spirit backstage life.
This project was done for these reasons: The Save as project started as the news of a renovation in the opera house in Ruse came up. This project aims to preserve part of the operas backstage interior which holds the spirit of the opera and keeps the secrets of the people working there for the last 40 years.
This project started from very nature of photography which is to document. An experimental series of photographs which is still growing. My idea is to stimulate a moment in which a person cannot fake his behavior and explore the different attitudes of people. This project is to be done on randomly chosen people who are not familiar with this experiment.
HOW This project started from very nature of photography which is to document. A random person is given a box wrapped as a present which has inside a flashhead syncronised to a camera. The person is photographed when he opens the box as the light of the box spreads around exposing the reaction.
A human being has its inter need to explore him self. An experiment oriented to the true nature of a person and his emotions looking into the reactions and the processes of perception. The experiment is done on random people so it could present pure data.
3.I LOVE ILLEGAL PARKINGs
The Project is an illegal action I took against the aroused problem with the illegal parking. Two stickers are placed on to a cars rear window which act as a mask for the drivers face transforming him into a criminal. Most of them are mustaches, glasses, dominos, veils, cigarettes and smoke. The mask transforms the person into a criminal.
Stickers are stuck on cars in violation of the traffic law placed on the drivers rear window of the car, which fit his face. The stickers are masks which transform the driver of the car to look as a criminal. Another sticker is also applied which states I love illegal parking in the corner of the drivers rear window. Other stickers saying “Baby in the car” with a graphic of a baby behind a steering wheel are stuck on the back side of the car
This project is aimed against the illegal parking on the streets. I chose to do a gourrella action because I wanted to do a similar to their act and also have it as a referance of their behavior. This way of performing allowed me to do it fast and without restrictions. This caricature of the person has the idea to ridicule him, because of his selfish behaviour. Its a statement of outrage and a shout for change.
