Chan's First draft TOP
1. What have you been making?
I want to build upon my previous EYE project, which involved delving into images associated with digital media. I aim to apply these tools to my own research or focus on a topic of interest.
Exploring the potentialities as an individual amidst the diverse images and stories floating within the digital media (the internet) was my intention.
I attempted to reinterpret the fragmented contents within this digital space through my own perspective. Through processes of repetition, expansion, contraction, and distortion, I aimed to investigate how our experiences intertwine and interact with the fragments within digital media.
The "Drone" project began based on a short video stumbled upon by chance on YouTube. This project aimed to explore various narrative structures that a specific subject could generate. At the point where the drone became the protagonist, the goal was to capture new narratives derived from the original video.
2. How did you do it? (method)
I conducted research on extracting key narrative elements from existing videos, establishing core characters, and effectively utilizing these characters to convey the story. I then creatively reconstructed diverse representations of dispersed and damaged drone images and seamlessly integrated them with related narratives for a natural expression.
