In 2012 Canadian pianist Michael Snow gave a rare solo performance at the Wiener Konzerthaus (Vienna). An internationally acclaimed visual artist and experimental filmmaker for over 40 years, Snow shows his remarkable musical sensitivity and artistry throughout this 32 minute set. Documented by filmmaker Laurie Kwasnik for her upcoming film "Fields of Snow."

Reverberlin, Michael Snow, Canada / 55 min. / 2006 Throughout his career, Michael Snow has alternated between his practice as a media-artist and as a musician. For this rare document, he combines both. Using concert footage of the free improvisational ensemble Snow co-founded in 1974, Snow digitally weaves together images and sounds from performances that have taken place across the globe. “I desired an equivalence of seeing and hearing so that one could actually listen, pay attention to the music, as well as follow the picture development,” Snow writes. Only the music remained un-edited, un-modified.
