I’m currently finalising some budgetary re-allocation: but by Monday can give you some clear guidelines as to budget and a basic framework for a student-led visitor lecture program

In the meantime: I’d like to hear from you all on Monday your proposed method for collectively selecting and inviting visitors.

To guide you in your preparatory discussions for Monday

— I would aim to allocate 3200 euros to this student-led visitor programme between now and the end of the academic year. (Needs to be confirmed) — The daily rate at the PZI for tutors is 320 euros. For one day you can ask a visiting artist to prepare, present for an hour, and then follow up with a Q&A — So I would start out thinking about 10 visitors you might want to propose — and the format you wish to set up for each visiting lecture. — For each nomination you should create a 250-word biog (including why you find the artist relevant.) — You will need to get each artist formally approved before you can send a final invitation. — You should agree how you can most usefully document this project on the wiki - and how you can use the wiki to organise your collective decision making

You should bear in mind that this re-allocation of the budget may need adjustment once the building re-opens and we resume “ business as normal” - so it’s for the moment a one-off intervention. Let's see how it works.

Hope these first guidelines help you talk through a collective approach. Look forward to talking to you all on Monday !

Warm Greetings,

Simon
