Petra ++++++++ Dear Piet Zwart Institute members, Students, Teachers, Course Directors, Course Coordinators and staff across all master programs,

This is Johannes, 2nd year MFA student. As a member and on behalf of the OC (Educational Advisory Board) at WdKA, I hope this email finds you well.

I reach out to you with this invitation shared via the Course Coordinators among the PZI to propose a meeting across all the programs.

I see a collective meeting of the PZI community as very important at this moment to address and discuss the current issues happening in the PZI in the light of budget cuts; increased workload for tutors, reduction of supporting staff around education coming together with discontinued working contracts among tutors. The reduction from 4 course coordinators to 2 course coordinators (with no full time contracts) for 6 courses. Additionally, no travel reimbursement for NL-Outside tutors, removal of guest budgets, removal of production and travel budget for students. In short, more work for less remaining tutors and staff members will result in less education for students.

Any outcome of this meeting is very important:

1. This educational cut cannot be unheard and should be made visible, at least, documented or heard. 2. Students will see and understand what tutors and staff are facing currently. 3. For a meeting of the OC with Una on the 11th of June, I want to address the collected concerns directly.

I wish to raise awareness about the changes that are imposed on us, and the worries, anger and disappointment that comes from all the different programs.

If there is the wish for any reaction from the Piet Zwart Institute before the end of this academic year, for example in the form of an open letter towards the WdKA management and Dean, or to the WdKA community to be heard, then this moment can bring together the Piet Zwart Institute as a whole.

I propose the meeting will take place next Wednesday, 5 June, 4th floor Wijnhaven in the open space area around the big tables.

As representative of the PZI in the OC I will organize to be there two times for this meeting to take place to guarantee a better flexibility for people who wish to join on such short notice.

I will be there for a first meeting from 11 - 12 and again from 5 - 6 (or later) in the evening.

Let me know if you would like to join but cannot. Joining the meeting online should also be possible, if I find a laptop available.
