At the beginning of the text Foucault point out the chief function of the power is to “train”. And the success of disciplinary power derives from the use of three instruments, which are hierarchical observation, normalizing judgement and the examination. All the three instruments serve the purpose of “train”and “makes” individuals. Then Foucault making examples of three organization ; militery hospital and school factories to explain how this three instrument function. The hierarchical observation use two way to train and surveillance individuals. Construct an Enclose Space to observation and built a system to supervision.
