THE ADVENTURE OF A SKIER - by ITALO CALVINO

This is a short story about a group of young boys, short and tall, thin and fat ones, but particularly about the one wearing the green goggles, and their relation and reactions to a girl - the one with the sky-blue hood. She is a girl who has the most magical, almost slightly above the ground ascension on her skis, up the mountain trail, moving with such ease almost as she was walking.

When skiing down the mountain she moves with unparalleled elegance, as expected.

At one point after skiing almost all day off and on trail, the boy with the green goggles is - almost by accident being pulled up mountain at the same t-rail as the sky blue hooded girl.

The two encounter and this deepens his fascination with the girl, and after they have skied together, the story ends with another description of his thoughts about her, and her utter divinity that is readable from every little movement and gesture she takes while skiing.
