In my thesis paper I would like to carry out a critical analyse of two basic component of human interaction: stealing and sharing. Common understanding places sharing and stealing on the opposite ethical poles; first one is seen as undoubtedly righteous behaviour while the second is perceived as an immoral and illegal act. I will develop the argument that the ethical, social, and economical evaluation of these two concepts is, if not always has been, problematic. Both of these acts carry fixed, seemingly contrary, values that tend to interchange and shift accordingly to the political and economical circumstances. I will also drag my reader trough the historical, philosophical, and religious aspects of these two in order to finally focus on the crucial role of stealing and sharing in the space of the World Wild Web operating accordingly to murky rules of the new economy. I will consider theirs rebellious potential against economical exploitation as well as the ideological value for communal coexistence. My field of research is going to be dangerously broad; I plan to take a closer look at Jesus Christ biography in order to explain the mechanisms of the gift-, sharing- economical models; I will use the classical sociological thought of Thomas Hobbes and John Lock to question some democratic values of sharing and elaborate on the economical notion of game theory; I will investigate the traumas of my personal Soviet childhood to prove that sharing is the an egoistic and vicious act against others, stealing however has constructive ability to fight the twisted system, and finally I shall discuses the tragedy of the commons basing on the Internet peer-to-peer initiatives. After many pages of writing I will spontaneously discover that my way of thinking seems to be a bit too conservative if not imperialist-capitalistic and so, in panic, I will conclude that the meaning of both, sharing and stealing; good or evil, can be easily twisted by the invisible and greedy hands of countless CIO, CFO and CAO’s and corrupted by the mysterious factor called the human nature. In a mean time I will provide reader with some observation on convulsive gesture of sharing that causes the mental pollution and economical damages across lands and forests of the media landscape and , consequently, I will give my blessing to stealing as a purifying force putting it back to moderate state of harmony.

The anticipated form of my “essay”: a comic book / obscene medieval manuscript + lazy manifesto.
