Research Proposal

For this Trimester my research will focus on psychological theory and its relationship with cinema, photography and my own work. Previously I explored the topic of Trauma and Transcendence through the lens of my Hasselblad, and I would like to talk about this on my very own website, but in a way which still leaves the viewer with questions about the photographs. Forcing them to add their own judgements. The first step in this idea would be to create my own website and concentrate on how it would look visually, and then to write about each series I have produced. I am in the early stages of reading about the application of psychological study through the form of photography and cinema. My output for this will directly be a website of my own, which may function as advertisement for my artwork whilst articulating my thoughts and processes in a way which could be used in professional context, such as if viewed by a potential employer. I always find it very difficult to write about my own work, and believe it would be a good opportunity for me to be able to collect my thoughts and show different meanings to what is first seen when viewing my images.
