''Bad Food Gone Worse'' shows a collection of food pictures which are somehow deteriorated by the time. Causes are exposure to the sun and/or exposure of kitchen heat and fumes. The images in the book are copy of photographs that are being displayed in different restaurants. The images are ordered by category in the book. The images in the book show a wide variety of flaws that can occur when pictures are not treated properly. To define what exactly properly is, is difficult to define, but we can agree that to put a picture in a frame and keep it in a friendly environment lets say a normal living- or bedroom is better than a warm and humid restaurant.
The book plays first in on the fact/trent that restaurants use photographs of their sumptuous (weelderig) dishes to lure food-seekers into their restaurants, second the hope that these pictures represent the food they serve in such a way that is attractive and/or beauty and third that this is sustained over time. The essay in the book makes an interest remark with and I quote "
, hopefully with a certain degree of attractiveness or beauty.
The book plays with the notion of beaty
