Im interested in the issue of identity in the networked society. In which transformation has Foucault concept of individuality construction been through? How is it transformed in Deleuze's society of informational interchanges? And what it its current state? Trough the examination of the issue of identity within this three historical waves, from soveirgn to discipline, from disipline to control and from control to protocol I will attempt to approach the current status of our networked identities that are created with a curator-librarian methodology. Connections with other writers and identity related topics seem meaningfull. (Harraways fragmented identities, Foucaults the care of the self, G. Lovinks multiple self and E.LLouz institutional self Hayles critical posthumanistic views etc) Our online identities are built with information collections found or published in the web and expressed with metadata and based on textual formats like the code. Moreover they are distributed within the network again and can be further remixed by others. It seems that the online space offers a space for identity construction through a variety of platfroms like personal webpages, blogs, social networks, elearning, online business etc. This seems liberating on the one hand , but on the other is shadowed by the fact that we tend to think of internet as a free space, which is not true because the internet is highly controled. Therefore it raises my interest to explore furhter questions like: Are we free in the objects we chose in our information collecting practises ? On which basis is our identity constructed within the context of social networking? How does constant information collecting and producing affect the way we perceive and present our selves? How does the extensive use of metadata created by others affect us? Are we distributing our alternative identities? Is finally virtual space liberating in terms of identity or are we enclosed in a very liquid and fluid controlled identity construction status? How does the postnformation persons identity depart from the previous states of it? How does the networking charakter of our soiety affect identity construction? From individuality construction to customized identity construction what has really changed? Have the degrees of freedom of expression changed?
