PURPLE

PURPLE is my favorite color

the purple is associated with royalty for a simple reason that, until relatively recently in our history, it was an extremely expensive dye and only royalty could afford it. However, till now, purple has the same meaning and mood : luxury. I am wondering if there were no such history, would we still think purple as a luxury color?
