First project : Irma 2.0
I want to make a short film, let's say 20 minutes, with interlocking storylines and multiple characters. The film would use multiple visual languages but start as a documentary and then slowly turns into a fiction film.

4 short films about my personal life played by 4 different actresses.

I'm working on a script based on me and my lifestyle and will cast different actresses to play myself. My aim is to make 4 short films, filmed in a different film genre, such as documentary, reality tv, fiction film or a social media/instagram style. The storyline is basically the same but every time told in a different way, for every genre I want to find a different formula to "promote" the character Irma 2.0 in a way that fits the target audience. I'm still searching for a suspense sentence, in novels this is usually the second or the first sentence. What makes the story interesting to watch and would this be different for the different audiences?
The characters :

* a female documentary filmmaker, The Documentary female filmmaker shares her research and film developments online for her followers. The channel is to inspire people to create and tell stories they are passionate about. example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpiOTE86bEE
* a male citizen who lives his life as a sovereign citizen and sees himself as The Tachyon Energy Facilitator (he is going to be the subject of the filmmakers new documentary)
* a female perfectionist living in a simple very terraced house, who doesn't get out of the house, but manipulates her holiday pictures.
The third character is a woman living in a "perfect" terraced house which is far too big for herself. She is nesting but doesn't have anyone to share her nest with.  She is a neurotic perfectionist, she wants to live an interesting life, she wants to travel and share her life experiences, although she is too afraid to do so. She hires a photographer to take pictures of herself in a greenscreen studio. In her save apartment she edit's her holiday pictures to post online.
* a male character, he is the neighbor of perfectionist female (still developing)

I'm in the middle of my research on storytelling in novels, the next step is to develop the script and cast the actresses. Then organize different types of camera's for a visual language that fits the genre and then shoot!
I want to develop the scripts and characters more, organize and research my characters. The man who is a sovereign citizen is this in real life, I know him, but have to ask if he would be interested to work with me. If so, I would try to meet/interview him.
Then I'll start my experiment in editing the story in two ways. One for a 4 screen installation and one for a linear movie.

The most practical storyline, the perfectionist woman, I would like to start filming soon.

What do you want to make?

I want to make a short film, let's say 20 minutes, with interlocking storylines and multiple characters. The film would use multiple visual languages but start as a documentary and then slowly turns into a fiction film.

Film themes : Longing for a big other to follow manipulation / Rhetoric’s

The characters :

  • a female documentary filmmaker, The Documentary female filmmaker shares her research and film developments online for her followers. The channel is to inspire people to create and tell stories they are passionate about. example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpiOTE86bEE
  • a male citizen who lives his life as a sovereign citizen and sees himself as The Tachyon Energy Facilitator (he is going to be the subject of the filmmakers new documentary)
  • a female perfectionist living in a simple very terraced house, who doesn't get out of the house, but manipulates her holiday pictures.

  • a male character, he is the neighbor of perfectionist female (still developing)

Interesting examples of Mocumentaries :

you answered what the project will be. try to also answer what will it do? what (done)/ how / why?

How do you plan to make it?

I want to develop the scripts and characters more, organize and research my characters. The man who is a sovereign citizen is this in real life, I know him, but have to ask if he would be interested to work with me. If so, I would try to meet/interview him.

The most practical storyline, the perfectionist woman, I would like to start filming soon.

What is your timetable? Before Dec 2017.

  • develop the script
  • Organise first location and actress
  • Start filming the scenes of the woman
  • research the real-life character, sovereign citizen, have a pre-interview.

Before March 2018

Before April 2018
