We reflect the time, we are having conversations about how ‘we’ got to this moment. We talk about how different it is, some say it is the same. We speak of intelligent beings. We speak of the end of the world. We speak about the kingmakers. We speak about corporation becoming richer then countries. We speak about wanting something alternative. We speak about the way we cannot keep up. We speak about fear.

What could you say it is?

This is a story from the point of view of a geological lump, the story they’ve chosen to speak today is one they’ve witnessed from the 1780s to now, a connection between a smuggler and a hacker. An observation from the beginning of capitalism to now, or in the future, some may call it late capatalism. And more, the rock wants to speak about the idea of seen and unseen. Within ourselves, within society, within history, within technology. The rock, has recently drawn some attention to it. They believe it may be conscious, or at least it has some kind of intelligence.

So then the piece looks also at the nature of intelligence, where it comes from, what is it defined as. The history of intelligence, is (I can imagine) marred by tropes, bigotry and accusations.

I also spoke in the beginning about how I am frightened by the lack of literacy around technology. And how this is perhaps used by big tech.

I have put myself in the role of the smuggler. I chose the most biologically similar person on the planet to play the role. Because I am also asking, where am I in this, and where is it rooted.
