The dissemination of 360 cameras and VR technologies have brought new possibilities and challenges regarding image framing. This class will introduce alternative approaches to these 360 immersive technologies–techniques that don’t use the conventions of framing or that make use of multiple film/video channels. These alternatives include Expanded Cinema, telematic and multi-channel video installations and Vertical Cinema, among others.
