Outside event: The Lost Art Of VHS Animation - Workshop @ WORM: 12:00-17.00

Ah, the sweet childhood memories of colourful animation films transported to the tv-screen with the help of black, plastic videotapes. They are forever engraved in the minds of many young adults. The tapes themselves however, can be found collecting fungi at the city dump or in the basement. It’s sad to see things falling apart and disappear, but sometimes it turns out that they were never really there to begin with. Does such a thing as VHS animation actually exist? During this workshop, which is part of the ‘Home Video’ project which Niek Hilkmann and Sandra Gnjatovic initiated, an attempt will be made to create an ‘authentic’ VHS animation with the help of all possible equipment and techniques. Participants learn all the ins and outs of filming and editing with VHS and contribute to the creation of a short movie, which will be shown afterwards on the big screen at WORM during the VHS Month!

There's a small participation fee connected to the workshop. Usually this is 11 euros, but Piet Zwart students get a discount and only have to pay 6!
