Written letter correspondence exists in a paradox: It still serves as the general model for media and communication while (seemingly) becoming obsoleted by electronic technology. When people talk about media and the arts, letters are rarely mentioned or reflected despite a rich history of letter writing as an art form, from 18th century correspondence novels to 20th century Mail Art and next-level 21st century practices.

On Thursday, June 2nd, we will begin the seminar with intense study of art histories and media theories of letter writing; on Monday to Wednesday, we will be joined by one of the most hardcore practitioners of analog letter correspondence, Goodiepal, to take our thematic project from theory to hardcore speculation and next-level practice.
