Bahdoon
Screenplay: 20 minute film - set in Malta. Two characters: Bahdoon, a Somali immigrant, Sandy, a local, share an unexpected connection, as they help one another disregarding social taboos that come with small communities. Malta has been at the frontier of the European refugee crisis. Opting to tell a more sensitive story, touching on many these complex issues, I hope to present a more accessible narrative. Screenplay and project proposal for ESP (European Short Pitch)
Rooms
A video-based installation, consisting of 4 videos, projected onto 4 separate screens. The work explores conditioned modes of narrativising life experiences. By presenting constructions outside of narrative context to an audience, I hoped to lay bare these learned systems. Pre, Production and Post - AE Construction of installation mixed material: metal, wood, plastic.
Ziemel
Screenplay: 15 minute film - set in Malta. A disastrous night out forces Ziemel, a teenager, to spend time with his emotionally distant father, leading the two to reconnect. Malta has almost no indigenous film industry yet is culturally unique. Someone has to tell these stories. Screenplay and teaser shot with cast and crew for fund proposal
