Since the first year, I started to explore more actively both the course wiki and other ones I know (before the course, I never really made any distinction between a website and a wiki per-se). At the end of the first year, I started to appreciate the way that information is organized inside of wikis and I was considering to try to set up my own.

I met User:Ålnik last summer who showed me her personal wiki, but I was looking for something smaller and static to start with.

User:Erica showed me Ikiwiki, a wiki compiler that "converts wiki pages into HTML suitable for publishing on a website." it also uses revision control. I have it in my sight, but I still did not dive in fully while still studying, as I fear I might fall into a rabbit hole. So what's smaller than this? I thought to look for something local-first, without thinking about the online side yet. I jokingly looked for something that would work in the terminal and I ran into something I consider a bit absurd...

Enter Vimwiki, a wiki plugin developed for Vim.
