To better understand the ‘poetic materiality of CSS’, I want to explore how visual and structural elements in CSS can relate to the sculptural qualities of language. In particular, after second week of SI26 exercise, I’m interested in how properties like ‘position’ can mirror the way language constructs meaning through spatial and contextual relationships.

This brought me back to a personal reference I’ve been holding onto for the past few weeks. Maybe it might seem like a stretch, but it feels like it could be a contemplative exercise that ties to these ideas about structure and composition, particularly in relation to ‘position’ property.

So first, I’d like to compare and analyze two different forms of sculpturality in language, think about how they are structured and composed around the word ‘liberty’, in this case. Most importantly, in a long run, I want to explore how these forms interact with the narrative and perception they presuppose, and how they might parallel the qualities of CSS.
