survey pad

For this project Charlie made a survey which gathered some answers.

We gathered these first to start experimenting:

A Mixer(we rented the Behringer X2222 Mixer from WdKA)

3 mini amplifiers (Harley Benton MA-5 Miniamp)Piezo mics, Luidspreker kabel, jackplugs

solder

a lot of materials that might make interesting sounds like tin cans, rubber bands, long pieces of plastic, metal bowls, little balls, plastic containers

Piezo instrument making process

After making the piezo cable and gathering materials the next part is just experimenting until an interesting sound comes out of the process. This part is really fun but I broke my cable trying different materials so be careful doing this, don't rush.

Instruments

To add per instrument: Picture, Type, Material/Description and Audio sample

Event Rider

Items

  • The big mixer (we can also ask WORM for this I think they have it in the soundstudio)
  • Piezo mics and Condenser mics (XPUB1)
  • AUX Cables (UBIK)
  • D.I.Y. Instruments + materials (XPUB1)
  • Blankets, rugs, pillows & low tables/boxes (UBIK+XPUB)
  • ...

Space

Needed: Approx. 3.5m²

The vision: A cozy circle of rugs, pillows and low tables. Picnic-like jamming set-up. Synths and recording material as well as the cabling of all the instruments will have to be prototyped. -> We need sufficient plugs

Rider for UBIK:

Power outlet for the middle of the room

Pillows(maybe from Pirate Bay)

Mixer? - Let's ask Joseph today if we can use the mixer he brought to our jam session.

Time

18:30 on the 20th.

Ca. 1h30 for the whole 'workshop'. Incl.: Time to play-around and experiment & a dedicated time-slot for the recorded jam session. We expect it to be scheduled towards the end of the event.
