Internet Mediumship is a performance that emerged as a response to my need for more nuanced narratives surrounding the Internet. Emphasizing people's overlooked role in creating the internet, this project seeks to delve deeper into the interconnectedness of online experiences, highlighting the diverse perspectives and emotions that permeate our virtual interactions.

Personal stories are central to the project, and the gathering of reflections on individuals' relationships with the internet. By providing a platform for voices often overshadowed by binary narratives like bad technology versus good nature, Internet Mediumship aims to foster dialogue and exploration of the many ways people engage with and perceive the online world.

At its core, "Internet Mediumship" endeavors to evoke and examine the emotional landscapes of internet users, inviting participants to explore their feelings and experiences in a collective space introspectively. These insights serve as invaluable resources for Backplaces, a graduation project that seeks to curate a diverse tapestry of web literature reflecting the intricacies of being online.

Through its emphasis on storytelling and community engagement, "Internet Mediumship" endeavors to amplify marginalized voices and challenge prevailing narratives, paving the way for a more inclusive and reflective discourse on the Internet and its profound impact on our lives.

  • Nosebleed = the internet is for what real life is not, sharing your grossest stories or watching slimey videos, reading or writing badly written poetry, looking at older people's social media accounts
  • Home = communities, home pages, custoumisation, self-expression, comfort
  • Sunrise = family life, nostalgia, childhood, sadness
