cakeplaces

Short description of the work

  • It's an edible installation and experience: backplaces as a village of cakes
  • It's made of cakes, some are savory and some are sweet, I am thinking crackers and candy because they will be written on and over, finding ways to write on food!
  • It gets eaten and read, if you eat it the story is gone but the food is tasty so it's okay ==

space requirements

  • ~36m2 space ( Length x Width x Height: 6m x 6m x 3m) - not sure, it's a small table, short, with pillows around, and big enough to walk around ==

if performance: Seating / placement

  • there will be pillows around the table for people to sit an eat, not chairs? unless it's a moment, depends on the other stuff happening that evening ==

light requirements

  • dark room! but a little light? could be mine
  • small lights on the actual table, needs to be plugged in hopefully
    • maybe light above it? ==

power requirements

  • not familiar with the room, and need a cable to plug tiny lights in ==

organisational requirements

  • the assembly NEEDS to happen on the same day because it's food and will take an entire day.
  • technician: help

required items that the exhibtion gallery/institution/space/... has to provide

  • a table would be nice if yes need to know size, if not can it be sourced by me (length x width x height: 1m x 1m x 1m)

required services that the artists/collective will provide

if installation/exhibition: switch on - switch off requirements

  • what must be taken into account when switching on and off?
  • remote control ?? ==

trouble shooting contact

content notes / exhibition notes

  • the work contains food, edible and vegan but contains allergens, can also just be read and not eten
  • sensitive topics ! content notes = the stories shared on the cake talk about emotional pain, loss, grief and trauma

exhibition plan

  • provide a plan of the installation / work of art / ...
  • add all parts/equipments to the plan
  • if light spots, indicate where they are positioned/mounted
  • indicate where the electricity plugs should be
