Performer: Music is vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. The music we will be playing today is all about composing and annotating music. Annotating music can be seen as a 'performative' protocol, providing musicians and performers with notes on how to play and interpret a musical piece. These protocols of annotation give the instrumentalists a guide for experimentation and execution.
