Musimat revelation ceremony

This is something I want to do and I like that it's not focused on making tools but on humans. I'm not sure how it fits with other things I want to do in xpub but I'm trying to dissolve the boundaries.

What? (two sentences)

An esoteric revelation where we search collectively for the truth hidden in chapter 9 of Gareth Loy's Musimathics Volume 1 (2011, The MIT Press). This will presumably firstly involve understanding MUSIMAT, a programming language Loy wrote specifically to protect the secret teachings of this chapter.

Why? (two sentences)

Persuit of deeper truth, knowledge and human connection, exploring "public information" as something generated through collective work, burning desire.

Workflow (two or three sentences)

Possibly making use of the PaRDeS method of textual interpretation as this knowledge seems stratified, but maybe this is too prescriptive. A workshop format (virtual and irl probably as the interested initiates are both in Rotterdam and abroad). The appendix about musimat is 30 pages and the chapter is another 30 so I'm not sure if we'll have time to all read it all. We will need laptops. Maybe a screen. Speakers. Would like decisions to be made on the fly by the group rather than predetermined by a charismatic leader. Mitsi The Expected One says they understand Loy's teachings, maybe they can guide us.

Timetable (Sept 23-July 24)

Maybe it could be more than one workshop? But I'm not sure if people are actually that interested. But at least organise one workshop for a few hours and see what happens.

2hr Organise (pick a date, invite ppl, sort location, print the chapter)

3hr Be revealed unto

1hr Document

Relation to previous practice (two sentences, draw on Text on Practice)

I and some of the other initiates have used weird programming languages to make music before like ChucK, MaxMSP and SuperCollider, we are all on a quest for deeper knowledge. I used to be a music theory teacher. I want to connect people and things and ideas and see connection as a generative act. Although I am afraid to generate things with the current state of our ecosystem. I am curious about common knowledge and public information. I want to understand the position of "my" practices as a part of "our" practices

Choices made (two sentences)

The word is the work and the work is the word.

Rapid prototype ideas

I don't have time to prototype this week but also not sure what to do here. Is there a smaller faster way to do this? Try to learn one weird programming with one other person, that's the essence of the idea. The idea is to generate knowledge, music, public. See what happens in that process. I dunno sounds a bit vague.
