slvi.e explores radio as a journalistic tool through which to uncover and activate site specific stories and political realities. Additionally, slvi.e has been researching the Dutch relationship to water, and how this excess, access and control of water reflects broader politics, using Rotterdam as a case study. Approaching water as a repository of knowledge to reimagine these politics. |

Station de Stroming is a nomadic web radio station, conceived and presently based in Rotterdam. This station functions as a journalistic tool to design a series of conversations about and encounters in its surrounding, interrogating and revealing its current socio-political, legal configuration, as well as the ways in which this can be re-imagined.
The Dutch stroming translates to ‘the current’ and ‘ideological movement’. A tension between water and time. Rotterdam, the Netherlands, formed by and from water, moves in and out of focus. This radio show, like water, which holds and divides us, is expanding itself beyond national borders in the attempt to touch upon broader geo-political tides and imaginaries.
