Here is a recap of the assignment given October 19th + some other info:

The texts are now in Leslie/ Renee's office, please take the text that corresponds with the number I gave you yesterday. If you run out of copies there are master copies in reserve (unstapled) from which you can run off an extra copy (you can also run off copies of the other texts if they interest you)

Assignment recap:

Make a first draft annotation of your assigned text in not more than 500 words (it can be shorter). If you have been assigned the text 'Immaterial Labor' your text will be up to 250 words. The aim is to note the overall thesis of the text and the themes it discusses. As with the 'what' exercise the aim is not to comment on the text (we are not interested if you agree or disagree with it at this stage) but simply to give an account of what you understand it to say. The text will be used in the context of the seminar in order to clarify the key arguments of the writers of the 4 texts and to discuss the overall theme of the ways in which media shapes the subject (in that context we will discuss if you agree or not).

Deadline: Upload on to wiki by 5.00pm on Tuesday 25th

Tips: Read the text thoroughly

Make an outline of what you are going to write: note the general thesis/ narrative/ claims of the text

Research the context of the text

Please use the Harvard reference system (emailed earlier)

Add bibliography (other texts mentioned)

NOTE: If you were absent from the Wednesday seminar you need to contact me, the seminar is an essential component of the course and participation is necessary in order for you to gain ECTS you need.
